Human Library
The Human Library fosters empathy and understanding through one-on-one conversations with ‘human books’, volunteers who openly share their personal experiences of prejudice, stigma, and exclusion. These conversations challenge stereotypes, encourage dialogue, and create meaningful connections that bridge societal divides. By integrating personalized storytelling features, the platform extends the Human Library experience to a global audience, enabling real-time interactions that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. Through immersive digital engagement, it breaks down barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate world.

How to transform a physical experience into a digital one while preserving the ethos of an NGO dedicated to bringing people together?
Started by mapping the entire UX to create a solution centred on session booking while reimagining the visual experience for maximum impact, connecting users to the diverse range of human books available at the Human Library. I meticulously crafted a sleek yet intuitive UI, the goal was clear: deliver an engaging experience that highlighted the variety of human stories and effortlessly linked users to them.
Brand Direction
I designed a visual experience that linked human books participant faces to the NGO's 12 pillars of prejudice breakdown, digitally recreating the powerful connection between visitors and books from the physical experience.
Product Design - Main Screens
The app showcased available sessions in real-time, guiding users from seamless onboarding to booking. Simultaneously, I designed distinct user journeys for both librarians and potential human books.
I delivered a cross-platform solution for desktop and mobile, maintaining feature excitement and engagement across all touchpoints.
